The Pinterest Tag is advertising / conversion tracking. It should run after Intastellar Consents and only when marketing or advertising consent is granted (per your banner categories).
Prerequisites
- Quickstart.
- Pinterest Tag ID and event names from Pinterest’s docs for your campaign setup.
Google Tag Manager
- Add the Pinterest base code and event tags in GTM.
- Set triggers to fire only when advertising / marketing consent is allowed—same pattern as Meta Pixel.
- Do not attach Pinterest to All Pages at page load before the CMP runs.
Inline tag
If the tag is hard-coded, place it after uc.js in <head> or inject dynamically post-consent.
Verify
pinimg.com/ Pinterest network calls for the tag should not behave as full marketing tracking before accept.- After accept, conversions and catalog events fire as configured.
