OpenAI Ads
Intastellar Consents ships a native, two-part integration with OpenAI Ads that covers both script blocking and consent signalling at the engine level. No custom JavaScript is required on your end — your existing tag implementation stays unchanged.

How it works
1 — Script blocking (pre-consent)
The Intastellar Consents engine intercepts the OpenAI Ads tracking script before it loads. Until the visitor explicitly accepts the marketing consent category, the script does not:
- execute
- set cookies
- fire conversion or audience events
The intercept happens at the engine level. No wrapper function or manual type="text/plain" attribute is needed in your HTML.
2 — Consent mode signal
Once Intastellar Consents is active on a page it passes the visitor's current consent state into OpenAI's native consent mode API, regardless of whether the visitor has consented or not:
| Visitor action | Signal sent to OpenAI |
|---|---|
| Accepted marketing | Full consent granted — tag fires and conversion events run as expected |
| Declined or not yet chosen | Declined / limited signal — OpenAI receives an accurate signal rather than silence |
Sending a declined signal rather than no signal at all lets OpenAI model conversion gaps, which improves measurement accuracy on the OpenAI Ads side.
Real-time updates
If a visitor changes their consent preferences — for example, opts out after an initial accept — the consent state is forwarded to OpenAI's consent mode API immediately, without a page reload.
Prerequisites
- Quickstart complete so
uc.jsruns before any ad scripts. - Your OpenAI Ads tag (or OpenAI Tag Manager deployment) installed as normal — no modifications required.
What stays the same
Your tag implementation does not change. Intastellar Consents wraps it at the engine level:
- For consenting visitors the tag fires normally and conversion events run as expected.
- For non-consenting visitors the tag is held and a declined signal is passed to OpenAI's consent mode.
Verify
- Before consent: no OpenAI Ads tracking requests should fire as full marketing events.
- After accept: the tag fires and conversion events appear as expected.
- After opt-out: requests stop and a declined signal is passed to OpenAI's consent mode in real time.
